Senior Director, After Market Business Unit
Theo is the Senior Director for DENSO Europe’s After Market & Industrial Solutions Business Unit; encompassing Aftermarket (OES + IAM), Commercial Vehicles, Industrial Products & Robotics.
Under Theo’s management the Business Unit has seen significant growth and evolution. Introducing long-term strategies and new organisational functions, localised management and decentralised activities, Theo has created a collaborative, autonomous culture and established the business as an independent profit centre. Theo’s strategy also prioritises new business development, applying DENSO technological innovations to increasingly important non-automotive domains. A firm believer in stakeholder management, Theo has harnessed the skills and diversity of his teams to increase market penetration, accelerate product development and strengthen infrastructure for future growth.
Theo has held key roles at DENSO for more than 20 years. Initially responsible for DENSO Europe’s Bus A/C business, his leadership enabled the division to achieve almost 100% share in the world’s largest double decker marketplace, Hong Kong. Theo also helped to establish DENSO’s aftermarket business in Russia: now the Business Unit’s largest sales contributor. Theo also spent an invaluable, two-year assignment at DENSO Corporation’s headquarters in Japan, where he led EU area management and product development for the Corporation’s Business Groups.
Prior to joining DENSO, Theo’s roles included sales management positions at HERAS Fencing & Security Systems in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany; and Netherlands-based marketing & sales roles at IT service provider Hoskyns Group plc. At home, Theo enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and son. He relishes foreign travel and the opportunity to explore other cultures. He is also a keen sportsman, playing tennis and squash, as well as running and skiing.
Senior Manager, Robotics Europe
Jürgen leads DENSO’s Robotics activities across Europe and is based in Frankfurt, Germany. Aiming to drive demand for DENSO’s advanced industrial robots, he coordinates direct sales in France, Germany and Scandinavia, as well as managing relationships with dealers and system providers in other European countries.
Since joining DENSO in 2012, Jürgen has significantly developed the company’s reputation, brand name recognition and business growth in the Robotics field. Jurgen’s 30-year Robotics career followed training as a mechanical and welding engineer, and has encompassed roles at Unimation (now Stäubli), ABB, Fanuc, KMT (water jet systems), and Eisenmann & Gissel (welding systems).
His personal interests include cycling, singing, and studying renewable energy. A father of two, his daughter is a controller, and his son has followed in his father’s footsteps, as an electronics engineer in Robotics.
Director, Commercial Vehicle and Industrial Products
Thomas has driven DENSO Europe’s growing Commercial Vehicle Product and Industrial Product divisions since 2008, supporting customers with European and global projects.
Under his guidance these divisions aim to harness DENSO’s technologies and global presence to achieve sustainable growth in the Bus Air-Conditioning sector, and top three European A/C supplier status. His pioneering Industrial Products research team also applies DENSO’s R&D capabilities to non-automotive markets - including products that enhance comfort and save energy.
Prior to his current role Thomas joined DENSO as a sales engineer in 1999, inspiring his team of sales and engineering experts to use creativity and innovation to achieve customer satisfaction and business growth. He went on to lead DENSO’s OE Sales Department, liaising with leading car makers Mitsubishi, Volvo and Smart.
At home Thomas is a life-long baseball player, a keen motorbike rider and passionate motorsports fan. He is also often found on the football touchline, supporting his three soccer-playing sons.
Senior Manager, Planning & ControlErwin has been responsible for DENSO Europe’s Planning & Control activities since 2009, supporting all business domains within the After Market & Industrial Solutions Business Unit. Under his guidance the Planning & Control team consolidates business plans, prepares business reports, implements IT systems and business procedures and optimises the CASH management cycle. Prior to his current role Erwin gained extensive experience in plastics manufacturing – predominantly in the automotive industry – where he held roles in finance, logistics, operations and general management. He has also been involved in green field set-ups, business acquisitions, initial public offerings (IPOs) and management buy outs. At home Erwin is passionate about sports in general and football in particular – he trains and coaches a women’s football team, and is a junior league referee. He also plays squash and golf. Erwin is married and has two daughters.
Senior Manager, Supply Chain EuropeAs head of DENSO Europe’s Weesp-based Supply Chain Department, René is responsible for the company’s European After Market supply chain management and stock levels, as well as coordinating non-automotive product supplies between DENSO's manufacturing locations and those of its customers, in Europe and beyond. Since joining DENSO in 2009, René has developed and professionalised the supply chain and back office functions to seamlessly support DENSO's continuing business growth. He also expanded DENSO's logistics network by introducing additional warehouses and supporting its processes and systems in Europe. This has successfully aligned the company’s distribution capabilities with customers’ increasing service level and delivery requirements. Before joining DENSO, René spent most of his 15-year supply chain career within Canon Europe and Price Waterhouse Coopers where he was involved in European business transformations and supply chain projects, as well as change, operational and interim management assignments. A Mechanical Engineer in Production Organisation and Automation, René also has a Master degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
Director Product Centre & After Market Diesel Network
Victor drives the development of DENSO’s aftermarket product ranges across Europe, as well as the company’s highly respected Diesel, A/C and Diagnostics Service Networks.
As Product Centre Director, Victor’s expert team – which includes product managers, application engineers and technical specialists – supports DENSO After Market’s sales teams in 40 countries with all aspects of product management, introductions and expansions, technical data and training, and vehicle diagnostics.
In his remit directing DENSO’s three Service Networks, Victor also leads a team of field service engineers with the aims of establishing and maintaining the company’s Diesel, A/C and Diagnostics Service Networks, promoting DENSO’s members-only tools and equipment, and communicating Network benefits to customers.
An automotive engineering graduate with thirty years’ industry experience, Victor’s career began as a service engineer with US air compressor developer Ingersoll-rand, serving offshore and major manufacturing clients. He moved on to DENSO in 1987, where his previous responsibilities have included field service engineering, and management and marketing roles for DENSO After Market’s technical services. In his current role he is widely respected for achieving results through his inspirational leadership style, and as an active promoter of the cooperative ‘DENSO spirit’.
Victor is married, with a son and daughter. His hobbies include sailing and all things football-related – especially supporting his son’s team.
